Name Prompt: What's in a Name?

  • Who chose your name?
  • Why did your parents name you what they did? If you like the story of your middle name better, include those details as well or instead.
  • How did they make that decision? Include details!
  • How do you feel about your name? Why?

Take me through the process of you receiving your name. Remain organized and allow me to hear your mood and voice as you tell me about this very

important part of you.

*Write at least one page on loose leaf paper. Try to make it to the second page! If you choose to type it, make sure you have access to a printer.

You will be unable to print your assignment at school.

Spelling Beemr. Mac

The Ashley Academy 2015 Spelling Bee is scheduled for January 14th. Rules and tips are available using the links on this page. Ashley has a strong tradition of excellence in this event, with our past champion Rahul Krishnaswamy making it to the National Finals in Washington, D.C. We asked parents who used our Sixth-Grade Kit how long their student spent on 'school.' Most of them estimated that they spent 2-5 hours a day on their kit. That variation is likely to be impacted by how in-depth you take your child's studies, what your child's learning approach is, how distractible he is, and much more. 3rd – 6th Grade Spelling. Upper elementary students may concentrate on one spelling convention each week such as; when to double the final consonant before adding /ed/ or /ing/ (ie: Swim to swimming) or when to add an /s/ or /es/ to make a plural with continual review of blends, digraphs, diphthongs, homophones, homographs, homonyms and affixes.

Please select your grade level to view practice tests.

  • For computer-based practice tests, the testing platform has a default login of 'Guest.' However, users can choose to enter a name when they begin. The user’s name will appear on the printable score report displayed at the end of the practice test, but the name will not be captured or maintained in the system. Teachers can assign numerical values to each student as a login, if that is preferred.
  • Paper practice tests can be printed. The material on these tests is non-secure.
  • The zoom tool is unavailable in the practice tests below. To access the zoom tool, open the TestNav app and click on the practice tests link under the sign in fields.
